Abel Tasman Coast Track

This map of the Abel Tasman National Park gives an overall picture of the route of the Coast Track (and my thanks go to Just New Zealand for making this map available on its website). On Sunday, 16 January 1983, Heather, Evan, and I walked from Marahau to Anchorage, and camped there for the night (Anchorage is marked with a red “1” on the map). The next day we walked to Bark Bay and spent two nights (“2” and “3”) there. On Wednesday, 19 January, we hiked to Tonga Quarry and camped there (“4”). The following day, we walked from Tonga Quarry to the Awaroa Hut (“5”), where we spent our fifth and final night on the track (and our only night in a hut) prior to finishing our coastal walk in Totaranui on Friday, 21 January 1983.
