 Back at the main road, I turned left and spent the afternoon driving through some depressingly poor counties – including Harlan County, which was the subject of an Oscar-winning documentary in 1977. Held up by road works at one stage, I took this non-Oscar winning photograph of posters seeking support for candidates in the elections that took place the following day. |
