 A photograph by Eric of me crossing the snow tongue. Successive parties had kicked a series of good steps in the snow and crossing it wasn't especially tricky – except for the final few feet at the southern end, where there were some iced-up rocks. We were all careful to avoid slipping, because that would have meant a long, fast slide down the couloir onto boulders below. |
