The Chatham Islands |
 Geology: These basalt columns on the northern side of Petre Bay are further evidence of the volcanic past of the Chatham Islands. The columns resemble the Giants’ Causeway (Northern Ireland’s sole UNESCO World Heritage site), but thankfully – unlike the Country Antrim columns – these aren’t swamped by hordes of tourists. |
