History: Tommy Solomon’s name was really Tame Horomona Rehe. Historian Michael King has noted that while “it is true that Tame Horomona Rehe … was the last full-blooded descendent of the original inhabitants of the Chatham Islands, … descendants of Moriori would continue to identify with that part of their genetic and cultural inheritance in succeeding generations.”
