 Fauna and flora: Stands of dense native bush are, sadly, uncommon on the islands, but it was good to learn that an increasing number of covenants are establishing reserves bordering local creeks, such as this parea / native wood pigeon reserve alongside the Awatotara stream south of Waitangi. |
