 Introduction: The Bown’s house is a old brick villa in Argyle Street, New Town, one of Hobart’s inner suburbs. Heather, Evan, and I'd first visited the house before we had even met Fae and Robert, because – while the Bown family were away on holiday – Bobby and Lilian had stayed in the house when they came back to Tasmania in late 1978 after six years in Africa. |
