Thursday, 5 January 2006 – At the Spiky Beach Conservation Area: … when Stuart was a law student he largely put himself through university with the money he earned by abalone (i.e., paua) diving. On one occasion in the late 1960s, he went abalone diving in this bay in what’s now the Spiky Beach Conservation Area.
