 We also went to see Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. It’s in a refectory alongside a small church, and – quite amazingly – Alessandro, Bill, Dave, Gary, and I were the only people looking at da Vinci’s 15th century masterpiece after an elderly priest let us into the refectory on Friday afternoon, 6 September 1963. |
