Although Gannett Peak was well within the level of my climbing capabilities, I didn’t want to have to find a climbing partner, hire a tent and stove, buy food for a six-day expedition, etc., while on a brief three-and-a-half week stop-over in the United States on my way from New Zealand to Scandinavia, so I opted to do a guided climb.
