Climbing Gannett Peak


... a short distance to a spot at the foot of Elephant Head where we decided to camp for the night. We got there at 4:40 pm – 8 hours and 20 minutes after leaving the Elkhart Park trailhead. Dinner consisted of garlic pizzas, which were – as I recorded in my trip notes – contested by an “appalling number of mosquitos!”
