Climbing Gannett Peak

When we reached the summit ridge of Gannett Peak, there was a magnificent view west across the Mammoth Glacier (in the left-hand foreground) and a series of small unnamed lakes fed by the Baby Glacier. I think that the three pyramid-like peaks in the middle distance are, from left to right, G-4, Mount Whitecap, and Ladd Peak. All three are around 13,000 feet / 3,962 metres high. Smoke from forest fires is visible in the sky above the distant horizon.
