Before I left our Bonney Pass campsite, I took one final photograph of Gannett Peak. Most of the route we’d taken to reach the summit the previous day can be seen in this picture. After making our way down to the Dinwoody Glacier, we crossed it and climbed up alongside the “moat” that’s visible in the centre of the picture. We went over to Gooseneck Ridge, crossed it, and then climbed up the Gooseneck Glacier (which can be seen beyond the ridge), before heading back up onto the ridge again, and then finally onto the snowfield on top the main massif of Gannett itself. |
