 ... a dusty old piano, on which – after clamorous exhortations from the rest of us – Squeek Steele demonstrated her skills as a pianist and her amazing repertoire. Without any scores to assist her, Squeek played whatever was requested. After she’d performed a medley of popular songs, I tried to catch her out: I asked her to play the Andante to Mozart’s 21st Piano Concerto. Without a moment’s hesitation, she moved straight onto the theme music from the film Elvira Madigan. It was very impressive and great fun. |
