Climbing Humphreys Peak

On Friday, 13 July 2012, Eric and I resumed our trek across Arizona, driving west from Williams to Kingman on the I-40, and then north-west on US-93 to the Hoover Dam. Built between 1931 and 1935, the dam is huge (hence this two-shot panoramic photo from the Arizona side): it’s 726 feet / 221 metres high and at the top is 1,244 feet / 379 metres wide. It has been said that the Hoover Dam was one of the top ten construction projects of the 20th century.
