The Larapinta Trail, 2023 |
 Day 1 (Friday, 28 April 2023) – The Ormiston Pound Walk: “The heat, the dust, and the flies” is a common cry in the Australian outback. Our first day’s walk was distinguished by the fact that it was both the hottest, with temperatures in the high 20s (degrees C), and it also had the most flies (as this picture that I took of Bob shows, there were a lot of them!). The maximum temperatures on the rest of the trip were usually in the low 20s, and we never again encountered many flies. |
