 Monday, 7 October 1991 – From Junbesi to Manidingma: This is another photograph of part of one of the maps in Ryohei Uchida’s Kathmandu to Everest. It shows the route we took to get from Junbesi to Namche Bazar during days five to nine of our trek. In addition to Junbesi, the name of each evening’s destination – Manidingma, Kharte*, Surkhe, Phakding, and Namche Bazar – has been underlined. (*: It should be noted that we didn’t really stay in Kharte. We stayed in nearby village called Bupsha, sometimes spelt Bupsa, but it’s not even on the map.) |
