Tuesday, 8 October 1991 – From Manidingma to Bhupsha: We left Manidingma at 7:45 am. An hour-and-a-half later, we reached the Dudh Kosi river. At 1,493 metres above sea-level, the Dudh Kosi was literally our expedition’s low point: even Jiri, the starting point for our trek, was at a higher altitude. The Dudh Kosi was also a turning point for us: after trekking east for five full days, we finally started heading north. This is a photograph of Mike, followed by Ralph and Diane, on the swing bridge across Dudh Kosi river. |
