An attempt on Lobuje East, 1991 |
 Tuesday, 22 October 1991 – Based at our Lobuje East base camp: Dave found a spot where he could open up a large map of the area and, at the same time, get a better view of our route up the mountain. Even though it was nominally a rest day, four of us – Dave, Eric, Ralph, and I – decided to climb up to the site of our advanced base camp. In order to reach it, we had to head up around the shoulder of the rock spire in the top left-hand corner of the picture. |
