An attempt on Lobuje East, 1991 |
 Thursday, 24 October 1991 – Our Lobuje East summit attempt: After we had reached the ridge and rested, Jon and Mike called it quits, so at 9:00 am only six of us moved off again. Later on, Rod and Geoff pulled out too. That left four of us who were still keen to try reach the summit. Ralph and Dave were on the first rope together with Ang Pasang and Rinzing, while – as is shown in this photograph that was taken by Ralph – the second rope was led by Tarchen, followed by Eric and me, with Tenzing still bringing up the rear. |
