 Saturday, 26 October 1991 – From Dingboche to Thyangboche: Less than three years after the January 1989 fire, a new Thyangboche monastery was already standing proud and tall on this historic site. Thankfully, the new monastery (which was formally opened in 1993) suffered only minor damage during the massive April 2015 earthquake in Nepal. |
