Saturday, 2 November 1991 – Kathmandu: I’d had a run in Kathmandu prior to leaving for Lobuje, and on my last morning in the city I had time for another one. On both occasions, I ran south from the Hotel Kathmandu down Kantipath (one of the main roads into the centre of the city), past the royal palace, to Durbar Marg, and back. This is a photograph of some of the traffic – cars, rickshaw scooters, motor-bikes, bicycles, and pedestrians – on Kantipath. I had previously run in Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Europe, and North America. By running in Nepal, I added Asia to that list and had only one continent to go. |
