 The hike from Plattjen Berg to Britanniahütte took us two hours, and as we’d reached Britanniahütte at 1:30 pm, we had our lunch resting on rocks below the hut. The Allalin glacier dominates the centre of the picture. On 30 August 1965, a massive avalanche at the terminus of the glacier killed 88 Mattmark dam construction workers. |
