On the aerial cable car from Le Tour to Charamillon: Caroline Ogden, a guide who worked for Jagged Globe (a Sheffield-based climbing company that both Eric and I had previously climbed with), joined us in Chamonix, and we were going with her on yet another acclimatisation climb – Eric’s third and my fourth – but this time our acclimatisation programme would include snow-and-ice climbing. Caroline is a Kiwi, and New Zealand being the small country that it is, she and I soon found out we had friends in common (namely, the Bradshaw family in Christchurch). |
