 We paused after an hour for a drink and to scan the route ahead, which was up the prominent ridge in the middle distance, across the face of the Aiguille du Goûter (the peak that dominates the upper left-hand quadrant of this picture), and then up the Aiguille du Goûter to the hut (which is barely visible in front of the Aiguille du Goûter’s snowy crest on the skyline). The Bionnassay glacier is in the middle of picture, behind the ridge. |
