 After visiting Abilene, I continued driving east on the I-70 as far as Topeka, the capital of Kansas, where I visited the state’s capitol building. The statue on top of the dome is called Ad Astra (after the state’s motto, Ad astra per aspera) and is of a Native American Kansa warrior. It has only been there since late 2002. |
