 At 11:30 am, I saw this hiker coming up the trail towards me. We stopped for a brief chat. His accent (and the colour of his t-shirt!) led me to ask whether he was from the Netherlands. He was, indeed … well, originally, because Jake Maarse – an age-group champion long-distance skater – has lived in Canada since 1976. |
