Climbing Mt Washington |
 Jake Maarse and I arrived back at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at 2:45 pm – eight-and-three-quarter hours after I’d set out from it – and Jake’s wife, Mary, took this photograph of the two of us. It had taken me three-and-three-quarter hours to climb the mountain; it also took me three-and-three-quarter hours to come down it, which shows just how careful I was while descending sections of the Lion Head trail. |
