Offa's Dyke Path

Day 14 (Tuesday, 29 September 2015) – Clwyd Gate to Bodfari (11 miles / 18 kilometres):
As this sign explains, the Jubilee Tower sits on the summit of Moel Famau, 1,818 feet / 554 metres, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range. The tower was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reign of George III. Somewhat fittingly for the monarch who was known both as Mad King George and as the King who lost the American colonies, the tower collapsed in a gale in 1862.
