 Introduction: Porto is stunningly beautiful. This is a panoramic photograph that I took looking across at the city from the southern banks of the Douro river. The boats in the foreground are replicas of flat-bottomed vessels that used to bring barrels of port down the river to the city from steeply terraced vineyards one hundred kilometres or so inland. |
