Day 3 (Friday, 29 September 2017) – Arcos to Barcelos (21.1 kilometres / 13.1 miles): We reached the banks of the Cávado river just after 4:00 pm, and paused while Heather took a photograph of me, Peggy and Bob standing beside one of what The Lonely Planet calls “the great and brilliant cocks sprinkled along Barcelos streets like bigger-than-life chess pieces.”
