 Day 8 (Wednesday, 4 October 2017) – Valença to Porriño (21.7 kilometres / 13.5 miles): Shortly before lunch, we had seen this sign erected by Galician Association of the Friends of the Camino de Santiago to draw our attention to an alteration to the Camino’s route. Instead of “5 km on tarmac roads packed with lorries”, the new revised route goes “through the Gandaras Natural Area and [along] the banks of the River Lauro.” We were strongly advised to take it. |
