Woodall Mountain, Mississippi

In their book, Highpoint Adventures, Charlie and Diane Winger noted that in 1998 the Mississippi highpoint “consist[ed] of metal towers, utility buildings, chain-link fences and an assortment of broken bottles and cans.” The highpoint, they said, was “not a pretty ‘site.’” Thankfully, the Highpointers Club and the Highpointers Foundation have improved the site’s milieu quite considerably.
