 Many fine ante-bellum (i.e., pre-civil war) mansions in Natchez survived the war, and as a result Natchez is a heritage city on a par with Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina. This is Rosalie Mansion, which was built in 1823. Forty years later it was used as the Union army’s local headquarters. |
