 About twenty minutes after leaving Yulara, we passed this group of people coming towards us, travelling the tough way: they were participants in The Track, a 520-kilometre / 323-mile race from Alice Springs to Uluru / Ayers Rock, which has been labelled “the toughest trail run in the world”. Competitors carry their “own backpack containing food, sleeping gear and other material.” No doubt they were all pleased it was the last day of the nine-stage race. |
