Climbing Mt Woodroffe

Almost exactly eighty years earlier, in June 1933, Dr C. J. Hackett, a medical scientist and physical anthropologist, took this classic photograph of three Pitjantjatjara Aborigines, plus Norman Tindale, Alan Brumby and himself at the summit of Mt Woodroffe. The cairn has been there for a long time: it was built by a 19th century surveyor.
