 On Monday morning, 20 May 2013, Eric Hodge and I drove from Yulara (the small town near Uluru / Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs. The forecast was for rain and as we drove the sky had an ominous look about it. As a result, when we arrived in Alice Springs, we called in at the West MacDonnell National Park’s offices, and were warned there would be heavy rain in the region “from 3:00 to 5:00 pm” the following day.
