 Day 1 (Thursday, 4 September 2025) – Dingle (Daingean Ui Chuis) to Dunquin (Dun Chaoin): One of the dozen or so ringforts on Mount Eagle. They are “ancient circular settlements. … Primarily built between the 7th and 9th Centuries AD, they served as family homesteads and farmsteads, not as military forts.” It has been estimated that there are somewhere around 50,000 remnants of ringforts in Ireland. |
