Day 3 (Saturday, 6 September 2025) – Cuas (An Chlais) to Cloghane (An Clochan): Our third day’s walk was both our shortest hike and our toughest day. We left An Bothar and climbed up to the pass between Masatiompan (which has been described as “a northern offshoot of Mount Brandon") and Mount Brandon itself. (The pass is near the six kilometre mark on this MapMyWalk plot of the route we took.) Rain and strong winds hit us when we reached the top of the pass, which made our subsequent descent somewhat slippery. The final couple of kilometres of our walk – along the road into Cloghane – were in heavy rain and, for the first and really only time we were walking the Dingle Way, we got drenched. |
