 This photograph was taken near the summit of Cleft Peak. The summit of the Column can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner of the picture. The long line of peaks in the middle distance are, from left to right, the Elephant (10,200 feet / 3,109 metres above sea-level), the Cockade (10,371 feet / 3,161 metres), the Umlambonja Buttress, Mitre, the Chessmen, and the Inner Horn (9,862 feet / 3,006 metres). |
