 Day 11 (25 September 1969) – CROSSING THE GREAT BELT: To cross the Great Belt between the islands of Funen and Zealand, we caught a 12:45 pm ferry from Knudshoved (which is near Nyborg) to Halsskov (near Korsor). Incidentally, the ferry service no longer exists. In the late-1990s, a massive bridge and tunnel complex was opened enabling trains, cars, and trucks to cross the straits and the need for ferries died. |
