Jerimoth Hill, Rhode Island

In terms of land area, Rhode Island is the smallest of the USA’s 50 states. The state’s name, though, is the longest in the union – its full official name is the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The fact that Rhode Island was one of the original 13 colonies that merged to become the United States of America in 1789 is signified by the 13 gold stars circling the anchor.
