Jerimoth Hill, Rhode Island
|

On Wednesday, 21 August 2013, I went to Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, to visit a friend, Scott Triedman, whom I’d first met when Heather and I were hiking round Mt Ngauruhoe near the centre of New Zealand’s North Island. Scott showed me round parts of the city. This statue overlooking Providence is of Roger Williams who, in 1636, founded a colony – Providence Plantations – dedicated to the separation of church and state. |
