 Our 2012 trip to Stewart Island was the second time Heather and I had been there. We first visited the island in late January / early February 1974 together with our friends, the Novitzes, for a week’s holiday. Seen sitting on a Stewart Island beach in this photograph (scanned from a 35mm transparency that’s sadly now in a pretty poor condition) are, from left to right, David Novitz, Rosemary Novitz (now de Plessis), Tonia Novitz (who was then 5 years old), and Heather Roberts. |
