 Campaigning – Italy: A shower of colourful confetti rains down on Romano Prodi, who is in the middle of trio on the left in this picture which I took on 7 April 2006 at the end of a pre-election rally in Rome. Prodi had been Prime Minister of Italy from 1996 to 1998. The coalition he headed won the 2006 general election, and as a result he served as Prime Minister again from May 2006 until June 2008. |
