 Campaigning – Sweden: Twenty-one years after I took my photo of Olof Palme on the campaign trail, Swedish politics were still open enough and politicians still accessible enough for me to take this photograph of Göran Persson – the country’s Social Democratic Party Prime Minister – addressing a crowd in front of a department store in central Stockholm. Persson had been Prime Minister for more than ten years when I took this picture on 16 September 2006, but he and his party lost office in the next day's parliamentary elections. |
