Thirteen Formative Years |
 EDUCATION – Saxonwold Primary School: In December 1985 I met Axel again for the first time since leaving primary school. Axel (who’s on the left in this photograph) was then living in Geneva, and he and I were amazed to discover how much we had in common – an obvious example being the fact that when this photograph was taken, Axel had already climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, while I was on my way to climb the mountain and successfully reached its summit five days later. Since 1985, I’ve seen Axel reasonably frequently – initially in Switzerland and, more recently, in France where he now lives. |
