Climbing Mt Whitney |
 Reaching the summit of Mt Whitney meant that Eric had now climbed nine of the US state highpoints – all the western highpoints with the exception of Granite Peak (Montana) and Gannett Peak (Wyoming). He and I had climbed the nine mountains during the course of four expeditions over a period of five years (2007 to 2012). |
