 2003 In the early 2000s, Heather lived in Vietnam, where she worked for New Zealand’s Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) organisation for three years. I didn’t live in Vietnam, but I visited Heather there on four occasions. This photograph of us was taken in Qui Nhon on 31 January 2003 during Vietnam’s lunar new year celebrations. One of the very few phrases that I learnt to say in Vietnamese is Chuc Mung Nam Moi (i.e., Happy New Year). |
