2009
On 8 April 2009, four days before I turned 65 and thus officially became an old-age pensioner (or superannuitant, which is what we call OAPs in New Zealand), Cathy, Evan, Heather, and I went out for dinner. We were having an early celebration for my birthday because I flew to Europe the next day in order to attend a political science conference in Portugal. I should also mention that when this picture was taken, Evan, Heather, and I were all employed by the Victoria University of Wellington (Evan as a lecturer in history; Heather as a teacher in the foundation studies programme; and self as political science professor). |
